Tango at Chacho Safe Dance Community

Tango Bar (and other tango events) at Chacho: Safe Dance Community policy and reporting form

Safe Dance Community

Our tango events at Chacho are dedicated to being safe and inclusive.

We applaud the trailblazers at Fábrica Tango in DC for developing their Community Agreement. We think it’s great, and we also adhere to the policy they built. You can find the original here, or continue to read it below:

Here at Fábrica Tango [and Tango Bar at Chacho], we are deeply committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for all dancers, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability and gender identity or expression.

We have a zero tolerance policy for unlawful harassment (including sexual harassment and sexual assault), discrimination or retaliation of any kind. Individuals engaging in harassing behavior will face immediate consequences at the discretion of Fábrica Tango [and Tango Bar at Chacho] management team, including but not limited to removal from classes and events, reporting to the general tango community, and legal action in accordance with applicable laws.

We will take immediate action to address the behaviors that violate our code of conduct. If you have been a victim of or witness to harassment of any sort, please make a report using the form below. You may remain anonymous, if you chose to do so. All information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent.

Would you like to tell us about an incident or encounter? Please use this form.

As it says in the original Fábrica policy, “you may remain anonymous, if you chose to do so. All information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent.”

This form submits to Lauren Hines, the organizer of tango events at Chacho, including the Tango Bar milonga.
